This fix will be deployed to PEAK 15 at 5PM PST on June 8, 2026
Summary
An infrastructure update caused a temporary disconnect affecting certain credit cards saved via the customer portal, resulting in Payment Wizard errors and potential duplicate records in CRM.
Issue Details
Between May 22, 2026 and June 8, 2026, an infrastructure update impacted the connection between Stripe and stored payment methods created through the customer portal. Cards saved during this time may not be properly linked for use within the D365 Payment Wizard, causing errors when attempting to process charges.
Additionally, if a client attempted multiple transactions with the same card during this period, duplicate payment method records may appear in CRM. These duplicates are a byproduct of repeated tokenization attempts while the connection issue was present.
Resolution
The issue has been contained, and all new card registrations are functioning normally. However, cards saved during the affected window require manual intervention.
If a Payment Wizard error occurs when charging a card:
- Ask the client to re-submit their card details through the customer portal
- Use the newly saved card to complete the transaction
This ensures the payment method is properly registered and restores full Payment Wizard functionality. Duplicate records can be reviewed and cleaned up as needed, but they do not impact system performance once a valid card is re-saved.
