In January, we introduced the ability to create and import Day‑of‑Week Vendor Rates, allowing you to model vendor pricing exactly as it’s provided — including weekday/weekend or other day‑specific rate structures. At that time, Planner 2.0 did not yet apply these rates when calculating costs.
With the February release, Planner 2.0 now fully consumes and applies Day‑of‑Week Vendor Rates when building departure budgets.
What’s New
Planner 2.0 now evaluates vendor rates day by day, ensuring accurate costing whenever a Vendor Service spans multiple days with different applicable rates. Specifically, Planner 2.0 will now:
- Automatically select the correct vendor rate for each individual day of service based on the day‑of‑week values defined on the rate
- Calculate a blended cost amount when multiple day‑specific rates apply across the duration
- Display messaging indicating multiple rates were used
- Show the day‑of‑week values and effective dates for each applicable vendor rate in the Rates tab
- Recalculate costs correctly when duration, dates, or other planning details change
This enhancement allows you to maintain cleaner vendor rate data (fewer rate records needed) while ensuring Planner 2.0 always applies the correct pricing.
What This Means for You
You can now:
- Build vendor rate structures exactly as vendors provide them
- Use weekday/weekend or other day‑specific pricing without workarounds
- Rely on Planner 2.0 to automatically calculate accurate, blended costs across multi‑day services
This feature is not applicable to Planner 1.0 and does not apply to manually created costs.
Online Help for Day‑of‑Week Vendor Rates will be published on the same day as this release.
